Yes, the Americans do have Halloween in Barcelona. As a matter of fact, out of the 250 trick or treaters we experienced, every 15th one or so represented a Catalan child with a Columbian nanny. Halloween climbed to the top of the list an an incredibly memorable moment. Two senior girls in the American School of Barcelona with help from the community of ex pats, created a special Halloween celebration. A map was drawn showing the apartments and institutions ready and willing to put on their Halloween. The kids dressed up, the street lights came on and the trick or treaters began their prowl for sugar. . The vintage celebrators passed out treats and tricked up their glasses with beer and wine. It was a party. And now, with every passing year, Halloween grows bigger and better here in Barcelona.
